It's mah birrrfffdaaayyy

Twenty four years have gone by, feels more like I blinked when I was twelve and when my eyes opened it was twelve years later. Not sure how that happened...

Crazy birthday, haven't gotten to truly enjoy it yet. Saving that for Saturday when grandma cooks some pernil y arroz con gandules and me and my crew head to a Halloween party with my name on the flyer =o). I did have some gorgeous flowers to get me through my workday and a new video Ipod from Anthony, thanks babe!

Onto other things... so ya'll want an explanation for that pic in the last post?
Goes like this...

Nathan contacts me earlier in the week and asks if I would be up for a photoshooting frenzy. The event is called istockalypse, and is setup by the company istock.com who gets together a group of models and photographers and places them in some great photo locations. I arrived @ 12pm on Saturday, cold and frizzed out by the wet weather and, after changing, was quickly thrown into the mix. I didn't even have the chance to introduce myself before being thrown into a photoshoot with a male model that just posed for Playgirl's November Issue. Say WHAT nena? Yea, a male model with a body of steel standing so close to me his pores were magnified (great pores by the way). It was surreal, but it's part of the biz. And something I have to get used to if this is the path I want to take the stardom. Everyone was very cool, and talented. There were two other female models who got super done up for high fashion photography, I was the normal cute girl you would pass on the street type, but (as you can see) the photographers seemed to like me =o). One of the sets was a NYC rooftop... where I froze my damn ass off but it was all fun and a great experience. I may just have an agent after all this.. There will be more pics as I receive them and of course I'll pass them on. Until then..

What I think about this rain...

Elle J: ive made a decision
E: on what?
Elle J: if it continues to rain like this im going to start coming to work naked
E: you will catch a cold
Elle J: ill catch one anyway
E: and spark a city wide masterbatory response
Elle J: oh well
Elle J: not my problem, take it up with God
E: homeland security would come after you
Elle J: maybe they'll relocate me to a place where its not raining
E: I doubt it will be raining inside the prison
Elle J : prison? for walking around naked? no way
E: It is NY- lol

American Soil

My coworker asks me today, "WHO is your sugar daddy?" , I respond, "What makes you ask that?", he says, "Cause I have a general idea of how much you make and there's no way you could afford all these trips". Do I really travel that much? While I do find cheap fares, hotels, etc.. this may be one of the reasons my credit bills haunt me for so long...either way, Montreal was well worth it. There are the typical tourist pics

Notre Dame... another building... and a square.... I swear I knew the names when I was actually there.

Could I get any more touristy?

The subways are so clean I'm not afraid to hold onto the rail **gasp**

I can even lean on the walls, wow! .. Bonaventure was our stop and an elevator from our hotel lead us right down to it... sweet.

The one pic we were able to get together

He makes fun of me always trying to get in front of the camera, and look at him... wanna be Lacoste model lol.

Montreal is very, err... liberal

They have some damn good beer up there too... that's a Molson And yet this kid still drinks Coronas... Just call me The Hat Queen

See, I can afford elegant hotels... on Expedia

The king on his throne.... Damn good time, wasn't it, Anthony?

Oh Canada!

Guess I can't say I never go anywhere... did I mention I was heading to Montreal this weekend? Land of the Canadian French.. Anthony and I made the 6 hour troop up north, and I have to say, despite freezing my ass off at times, it's been worth it. I mean, the bums kind of scared me, more so because they spoke French that sounded sleazy and I wondered if they were asking for more than money. Beyond that, things have been very... European, but I've learned that despite the country you are visiting, Wendy's workers are incredibly slllooooowwwwwww..... Vieux Montreal is a beautiful collaboration of cobble stone streets that reminded me of a colder version of Viejo San Juan in PR. There are so many boutiques on Saint Catherine (street), and so many people walking around with shopping bags from those boutiques that you're easily inclined to spend $250 on a jacket you would never take a second look at in NY. I didn't buy the jacket, but that's only because they didn't have my size... Old languages die hard... whereas I am often reprimanded for not speaking a word of spanish, French, the language I learned in high school and never used, fell easily onto my ears and I was soon teaching Anthony that French words are rarely spoken the way they are spelled i.e. Champs de Mars is not to be said CHAMPS (like the sneaker store) DE (like day) MARS (like the planet), instead its CHAM-DUH-MAH- like one big word.. I don't think he gets it, and who am I to correct when I can't even say "arroz" like a true Puerto Rican (do I really need to say it like I'm hacking a lugy?)... It's already Sunday night and we're looking for a place to eat and drink the rest of the evening away, before I know it I'll be back in NYC annoyed by the tourists in my way with their maps and cameras, totally forgetting what a tourist I was at the Notre-Dame Basilica... such an Americanne I am...

Carlos Beltran and Other News...

Here I was in the middle of writing up this HUGE blog entry yesterday, when a coworker shouts "Carlos Beltran is in the family store, who's coming?" I'm a celebrity groupie, and I'm not scared to admit it. Well, not a full on groupie, I just say hi, maybe grab a pic and I'm out. Not trying to go home with anyone or be their stalker. Ironically enough, I work in an entertainment company and have yet to run into any well known Hollywood celebrities, but a sports celeb is shopping downstairs, go figure. So I get down there and my coworkers are milling around as if they really have an interest in the T7 that just came out. Carlos was checking out some digicams with two people including a woman that I was sure had to be his wife. My coworkers eventually outlived their star-struckness and left before I did, but I was determined to do something about this. Realizing I had my camera phone with me, I did what any Puerto Rican woman would do when a PR wife was around, I asked HER if it was ok to take a picture with him. I'm sure these wives get completely ignored by the women who run after their famous husbands, I didn't want to follow down there road. She looked delighted and soon enough I was locked in an embrace with Mr. Beltran.. yea, he's pretty hot, but you're sexier Ant!

Damn sunny setting on my phone.. we both look yellowish- brown lol...

So onto my original post, started yesterday....

Dumb Girl Gone Smart **wink**

Well, it looks like someone has wisened up (now I just need to get on the bandwagon in other aspects of my life). Girl! (who shall remain nameless but was referenced to in a previous post), I'm so proud of you for moving on from that dumb fucker... he wasn't worth your time. Please leave him in the dust...

In other news... I'm getting more photos from the shoot, I'll post them little by little.. maybe, haven't decided yet. I'm feeling "fuzzy", that's what I've been telling people all day. I feel like I'm here... but I'm not. No, there are no drugs involved.

This past weekend was productive.. Friday night I took a lonely stroll by the WTC downtown and wandered into Century 21 where I was able to think about all the things I would buy if my bills weren't haunting my dreams.

Saturday we brought back a family tradition and revisited the old country... well, upstate New York old country. Met up with dad and his crew of neighborhood kids and took the trip to Salt Point, NY where I introduced Isaiah to his first tree climbing adventure. I have vids of this, but I haven't had the time (or mental capacity) to dub the video, I'll get to it eventually. Here are the pics

I swear the kid was happier than he seems here.

See, just look at that smile (his, not mine.. I look like I'm trying too hard).

Even Anthony found his way to the treetop, I stayed as close to the ground as possible.. with this weird cloud of bad luck following me I'm not taking any chances. The little girl is Ashley, one of dad's crew.

A happy little urban farming family

He's a cowboy

Ever since Anthony nabbed those shades, he won't take 'em off!

Ah, no wonder - sun was beaming.. Note to self** don't hire dad to take any pics, his shadow will show up everywhere

I'd like to say I was drunk and that's why I agreed to this picture, but unless the cider was spiked....

That's better dad, stay on this side of the camera

I tell Isaiah, "Look you have four girls all to yourself today" to which he quickly responds by holding a hand to my mouth and saying, very seriously, "Shut up!" .. Fine, fine.. but I'll still squeeze you to death no matter how embarrassed you get.

Now you get to enjoy a small video production with footage from our ride

We didn't get home until 9 that night, longest apple picking trip to date, but one of the best.

Sunday morning I found my way back out to Jersey and tried reshooting the lost photos... since we never saw the originals I can't tell you if these came out better or not, but I'm liking them so far...

That's not my guitar, but it's convincing right?Who is up for giving me lessons?

Afterward I found my way to Sunset, and stopped by Marj's to chat on her stoop and talk shit like we did back in 8th grade. Crazy how the topics of discussion are so different ten years later. Crazy how things are so... serious and can completely alter your way of life. I enjoy being an adult but there are those moments where I just wish life was... easy.

Having not seen little Anthony Jacob (my former godson- how does one become former? long story lol) in what feels like years, I begged Anthony to locate the little cutey and we were finally able to track them down at Phat's house. Gloria's looking great, you'd never know she was pregnant a year ago. Kris and Ita were there too, but everyone shyed away from the camera except for these 3 .. check Jacob out, I think Imani has a new boyfriend

And we got video....

I think this post is long enough...
